UPS Eco Simulator Arrives at The Hong Kong Open

The UPS Eco Golf Simulator had its last outing of 2011, during the recent UBS Hong Kong Open, won by Rory McIroy. The UPS Eco Simulator, which operates using Sports Coach software has been transported around the world to select tournaments. It is powered by 10 solar panels which capture natural light and convert it into electricity. The Simulator provided a unique and 3D perspective of a virtual golf hole, with a nearest the pin competition presented throught the tournament. Visitors had the unique opportunity to improve their game through professional instruction from PGA professionals. Tennis Centre Novak Selects Sports Coach

Tennis Center Novak, Belgrade, built to house the Serbia Open, was the creation of international tennis ace Novak Djokovic. Although Djokovic now lives in Monte Carlo, the tennis center - which hosts the Serbian Open, continues to thrive and expand. There are indoor and outdoor tennis courts, a fitness center, and a sports therapy center. Sports Coach Systems were recently chosen to install a GPS Ultimate Golf Academy at the Centre. The ultimate academy is the complete indoor coaching system. Golfers play within a three sided projected image and can instantly analyse ball flight, shot performance and swing performance. This comprehensive system uses 3D high speed cameras to ensure the most accurate ball flight in addition to digital video cameras that record and play back swing.

Sports Coach Launch Live Online Support

Towards the end of December 2011, Sports Coach has focused on improving their technical support experience for clients with the introduction of GPS Online Support. Clients can now have their golf simulator configurations remotely examined directly by the factory so that any issues that could develop through continuous use can be identified and speedily rectified thanks to remote control software that allows the factory to access simulators live.
Remote control assistance is available for any client that has a golf simulator connected to the internet. Remote control software will be available as part of the package in forthcoming releases.

The growing trend of golf simulator installations in hotels continues with Hotel Mikado being the latest to feature this popular indoor sport. Situated in Nitra, west Slovakia, the hotel offers several sports and relaxation services in addition to their golf simulator. These include a swimming pool, sauna, squash court and fitness centre.

Visitors Treated to Golf Simulators at Portugal Masters

The Portugal Masters, held at Vilamoura was won in October by up and coming professional protégé Tom Lewis from Welwyn Garden City, England. The Masters were held in Portugal for the fifth consecutive year offering a prize fund of €3 million.

Approximately 35,000 spectators attended the event to watch Lewis stride into the pages of history. This was a great turnout, especially for the Portugal Tourist Board as they were entertaining visitors with a nearest to pin contest on a Platinum Golf Simulator provided by Golf One Systems or Loule, Portugal.

UPS also continue to follow the tour with their Ultimate Golf Academy simulator at this event, offering upmarket teaching from PGA professionals using the latest swing capture digital video technology.
