Golf Simulators Reach the Arctic Circle

Bodo, the capital of Nordland county is situated inside the Arctic Circle on the north western coast of Norway. The city is only 30km (19 miles) away from Saltstraumen, the strongest tidal current in the world, with water speeds reaching 22 knots (41 km/h; 25 mph) and it experiences some of the strongest winds in Norway. With its scenic setting and authentic buildings, several movies have been shot at this port, including Benoni og Rosa (based on Knut Hamsun's novel), I am Dina and Telegrafisten which has created a great interest in the city. Bodo is experiencing a fast growth in population, and with more than 46.000 habitants, Bodo is the second largest city in Northern Norway, and one of the fastest growing cities in the whole country.
With a fast growing population, entertainment is becomming a key factor in revenue generation. One such business that is capitalising on population growth is Royal Bowling, a modern entertainment complex built over fourteen hundred metres of floor space right in the heart of the city.
The centre, decorated  with murals depicting historic Bodø houses twelve ten pin bowling lanes, eight Norwegian billiards tables and a full size snooker table. It also has an advantageous position as it lies beneath the Radisson Blu hotel, which is home to the Top 13 Rooftop Bar where guests can take in a view that stretches as far as the beautiful Lofoten Islands.
With such high demand for its entertainment facilities, the centre has recently installed a three screen Platinum GPS Golf Simulator which caters for all age groups due to the wide range of play options on offer. The local golf professional has already visited and tested out the golf simulator and has been so surprised by its accuracy that he is now offering his own golf club members and Royal Bowling member’s lessons and custom fitting on the simulator for the foreseeable future.
